Proteus Lite is the shareware version of Proteus. It is aimed primarily at hobbyists and students although we
do not forbid commercial use. This download will provide you with fully functional schematic drawing and PCB
layout software, although more features become available when you register it. It also includes a limited
version of the ProSPICE Lite simulator.
ProSPICE Lite can only be used to simulate the sample designs until it is registered. However, you can change
the source code on the VSM samples which provides considerable scope for learning about the 8051, HC11 and PIC
processors.
Please note that Proteus Lite does not implement certain features found in the Professional version, even when
registered. In particular, Proteus Lite does not implement netlist-based PCB layout, Gerber and Excellon CADCAM
output or graph based simulation. Please review the individual pages for ISIS Lite, ProSPICE Lite, and ARES Lite
